Gauteng to host high-level gathering on climate change in Erasmia, Pretoria

MEC for Economic Development, Agriculture, Environment and Rural Development, Hon. Morakane Mosupyoe will tomorrow, 21 November 2019, address the delegates of the climate change Indaba hosted by the Gauteng Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.
 
The 1-day Climate Change Indaba will be take place at the Velmore Hotel Conference Centre in Erasmia, Pretoria from 9am.
 
The Indaba will be held under the strategic theme “Mobilising climate action to create a sustainable climate resilient Gauteng City Region”. The Indaba will be attended by more than 300 delegates, drawn from different sectors in society, notably academia; environment organizations; government representatives; business; research think-tanks; community-based organizations; non-governmental organizations; youth and women organizations; farmers and general public.
 
The overall objective of the Indaba is to galvanise Gauteng’s populace around the Climate Change agenda and showcase the Gauteng City Region’s climate change response efforts. These programmes will cut across all spheres of government and the private sector and raise public awareness around climate change and climate change response efforts. The final Gauteng City Region Climate Change Strategic Plan (CCSAP) and associated provincial plans such as the Gauteng Green Strategic Programme, Gauteng Energy Security Strategy and Gauteng Disaster Management Plan will be presented at the Indaba.
