The ANC Caucus in the Gauteng Provincial Legislature wishes to congratulate comrade Sputla Ramokgopa for his sterling work as MEC of Economic Development, Agriculture and Environment. In the 100 days in office Dr Ramokgopa had turned things around in the department and all its agencies . We wish him well in his future endavours and are confident and optimistic that whatever the future holds for him he will execel in it.

The ANC Caucus further wishes to welcomes the appointment of Cde Mosupyoe Morakane as the new MEC for Economic Development, Agriculture and Environment.

Cde Mosupyoe is currently the chairperson of the Social Development Portfolio Committee at the Gauteng Provincial Legislature. She served as a councillor in the City of Tshwane from 2006-2016. During this period, she also served as the MMC for Health and Social Development whilst also serving as the regional executive committee member of the ANC in Tshwane region.

She also formed part of the Social and Economic cluster over the same period. In 2011 she became the first female speaker of the City of Tshwane until 2016 when the term ended.

Within the ANC, Mosupyoe is currently a member of the Provincial Executive Committee (PEC) and also serves on the Provincial Working Committee (PWC) of the party.

She brings with her vast experience having previously served as a councillor in the City of Tshwane from 2006-2016. During this period, she also served as the MMC for Health and Social Development. She also formed part of the Social and Economic cluster over the same period. 

In 2011 she became the first female speaker of the City of Tshwane until 2016 when the term ended.

Cde Mosupyoe joins a formidable team in the executive whose task is make sure that the quality of life in Gauteng improves drastically and further grow Gauteng together.
