MEC Mazibuko visits Bombani shelter in Alexandra as part of Nelson Mandela Day

As part of 10th year Nelson Mandela Day commemoration, the Gauteng MEC for Community Safety, Faith Mazibuko, accompanied by staff members and departmental stakeholders, will take part in various activities across the Province in honour of the 67 Minutes for Mandela.

The highlight of the 67 Minutes for Mandela will be the spring cleaning and painting of Bombani shelter in Alexandra. The MEC will also be donating some items and equipment on the wish list of the shelter.    

The shelter is a non-profit organization that serves abused women and children, by providing them with a temporary home and support structure to develop them personally, economically, and spiritually.

Established in 1999, the shelter operates twenty–four hours and works closely with the local Clinic Trauma Unit.
